French U-19 Defender Signed
By: Lucas | January 15th, 2008
Roy Keane has signed a player who is neither Irish nor a former Manchester United player. PSG and France U-19 defender Jean-Yves Mvoto has joined Sunderland for an undisclosed fee.
With the reunion of Jonny Evans and Nyron Nosworthy in the middle of the backline, Sunderland notched only their third clean sheet of the season last weekend, and looked good doing it. The 6′4″ Mvoto (pictured — he’s the one not getting pwned) will hopefully help continue to shore up what has been a very shoddy defense.
In other transfer news, Keane is looking at Reading’s Leroy Lita; and Sunderland appear to be very likely to sign Blackburn striker Jason Roberts.

As a Tottenham fan who has seen two young French defenders in the past two years, I hope yours works out better than ours. Just not this weekend
