Fulham v Sunderland – YAY WE GOT A POINT!!!!!!!
By: Stephen | February 28th, 2010Stop the presses (I’ve actually wanted to run into a printing house and say that). Sunderland has taken a point off of someone in the EPL. I know, it’s weird for me to write a blog after so long about a freaking point. Maybe just maybe Steve Bruce isn’t the manager we need. A 0-0 draw against Fulham is a good point, but I like goals, especially ones that SAFC scores. Likewise, I hate goals against us. This teams still isn’t ready for prime time yet.

SAFC TV chat with Steve Bruce
I’ve said it before many times – I thank the fans, because 40,000 on a wet Sunday afternoon is a fantastic turn-out.
The simple truth is we didn’t give them enough. We huffed and puffed but lacked any real confidence and we are shorn of that at the moment.
The crowd were terrific and we must learn quickly to handle the demands there are here. We do that by taking the ball into areas where we should be taking it, and today we resorted to lumping it up the pitch.
If I ever resort to playing like that it’s time for me to call it because I want my team to get the ball down and play, and we found that difficult.
There are positives – defensively my goalkeeper didn’t have a shot to save and John Mensah was magnificent, but we struggled with the final delivery and that’s the frustration for me. We’ve been decent at that at home and that seems to have deserted us recently.
Fulham are a good team. They are confident and we could tell. They quietened the crowd down but I’ve got no excuses – we simply didn’t perform well enough and we must improve.
