Keano’s new strategy: Get Points

By: Lucas | October 12th, 2007

Sunderland have lost 3 of their last 5 league games. It’s fair to say that the Black Cats have played tough in these games, which were all by one goal, and which include late giveaways at Old Trafford and Emirates. It would be a bit of a sports cliché to call those games “moral victories,” and move on to the next game (Oct 20 away to West Ham, btw). But Roy Keane wants nothing to do with moral victories, not when his playing career was filled with so many actual victories. Keano told SAFC.com, “You should believe you can get something from every Premier League game…. we played relatively well away from home but we got no points.” Currently sitting 16th in the table and only 1 point from safety, I’d say he’s onto something.

In other news, Keane has decided against signing former Man City & Ajax midfielder Kiki Musampa. The Congolese veteran played well for the reserves against Liverpool, but apparently not well enough to make the squad.
