Monday Morning Right Back

By: Stephen | April 13th, 2009

As you guys know I’m American. (I won’t call myself a Yank, because that reminds me of the New York Yankees, and I hate them). Newspapers here doing something called the “Monday Morning Quarterback” going over the game before during the American Football season. So, thinking about that, I want to do a Monday morning post for you guys. But I don’t think I’m going to talk about the match before, since I already do that.

With that being said, I might end up calling it the Monday Morning Right Back. It just has a nice ring to it. Plus, I can always adapt it to the day.

So for today, I was looking at the club’s official site, and saw this Carlos Edwards interview talking about the importance of the last six games of the season. He calls them “Cup Finals”. While that’s a good way to think of them, I don’t want the lads to psych themselves out. Once again we are too talented to be relegated.

A final wrap on the last match from Ricky: “We’ve got to carry that into the Hull game … and all the way through to the end of the season. We’ve set ourselves a standard which we’ve got to keep to.

“The next six games are going to be difficult and there’ll be a lot of changes in the league table.”
