Red & White Bootcamp?
By: Lucas | September 20th, 2007
Roy Keane is still new to the job of Premiership manager, and he’s definitely not afraid to try…unusual things to keep his team’s morale and camaraderie up. Taking the phrase Red & White Army rather literally, Keane signed the lads up for a day of team-bonding military exercises. Keano, who opted out of the exercise in favor of watching a match, wanted it to be “something for the players to get away from the training pitch.” From the look of the pictures posted on SAFC.com, the players certainly enjoyed their day “off.” I guess it’s true what they say, the team that crawls through the mud and climbs poles together, stays together (that is what they say, isn’t it?).
In other news, it looks like Dean Whitehead may be returning from injury much sooner than expected. While it appeared as though the team captain would miss the entire 2007/08 campaign (if I may continue to write in military parlance), he was given the great news last week that his ACL had begun healing much more quickly than expected, and surgery would not be necessary. The latest prognosis indicates that Whitehead may be back in the lineup by mid-November.
