Ricky Tips His Hand?
By: Stephen | December 23rd, 2008Among my morning routine is to look at SAFC.com, to see if we’ve hired a gaffer yet. Now, I don’t think that’s coming before Christmas, but I can be proved wrong. However, there’s a lot of great content up on the website (I know, I’m being a shill for the club). And one thing piqued my interest this morning.
From Nick Andrews story today:
And Sbragia, who has taken charge of Sunderland’s last three games, has identified a new defender.
“I’ll be looking to bring in a defender with Premier League experience, I think we are a bit thin in that area” he said.
“We’ll look to buy someone with experience but if that doesn’t work out there’s always use of the loan system.”
Hmmm could he be talking about a return of a local legend from a certain “Big Four” team?

TADA!
Johnny Evans? Could he be coming back to the Stadium of Light? That’s a dream of every Black Cat fan. Would he be able to help us up to the top 10? Probably, there’s very few things Johnny can’t do. Now, he’s not the end all be all of defenders, but given our current lot, he could be the best.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas. It’s been really fun reporting on the Black Cats for the last month, and I’m really looking forward to continuing for the foreseeable future. I’ll be back after Christmas with a Match Day blog on the Blackburn match!
