Setbacks

On the transfer front: Matt Taylor gives the two-finger salute to Sunderland, opting instead to join fellow Premiership strugglers Bolton Wanderers.

Na na na na…Keano! himself has flatly disavowed having had any interest in Chelsea benchwarming midfielder Steve Sidwell. Other rumored transfer targets also not being courted by Keane: Olivier Kapo, Jason Roberts and Schweizer Verteidiger Johann Vogel.

So, after getting Jean-Yves Mvoto from PSG…who are we going after?

And on the injury front - because we haven’t had enough of those lately - useful Scottish winger Ross Wallace is out for the season after tearing knee ligaments in training.

Ugh.

Well tomorrow Sunderland will attempt to “do the double” over Spurs; the Black Cats haven’t won a top-flight game in London since 2001 when they defeated Chelsea, and haven’t won at White Hart Lane in nearly 40 years. Any result from this game would be great.
